So, a lot of people have been asking me about my thoughts on the super hyped Twilight movie. And I think to express that I first nee to express my feelings on big screen adaptations of books.

First off, I learned to treat movies differently from the books around eight years back, when the first Harry Potter film came out. Back then, I had read the first HP book, but only because it was a school assingment and when I finished it I wasn't very fond of it. It wasn't until trailers and tv spots from the movie started coming on that I said to myself: "Hmmm, this looks interesting.", and decided to give the book another try. From there on, the rest is history; and now, almost 10 years later, i'm still a HUGE fan and thankful that I got to read such amazing books that taught me the true meaning of reading. Without HP, I wouldn't be reading the Twilight series today.

So in great part, from the start, i've been very parcial and fond of film adaptations of books. Maybe that's why I can see them differently from everyone else and can actually enjoy them. Or maybe it's because I treat the movie differently from the book. That is the key to enjoying a book adaption; separating the genres. The book is the book, the movie is the movie. We can't expect them to be exactly the same; we can't have any expectations, period. The film adaption never tries to be the book, it only encompases it's essence on to the big screen. So when I see these movies I see only that, a film. Sure, it essencially has the same plot as the book, but they're never the same thing. I enjoy the book for reading, I enjoy the movie for watching.

Ok, so now that i've made my thoughts on book-to-film adaptations, I will now talk exclusively about Twilight. Many argue that the film has such a huge hype months away from it's release and without hardly any footage to judge on, leading to many being dissapointed with the final product. I agree, somewhat. I think a lot of fans have very high expectations for this movie, and I think that's the wrong attitude to have with any book-to-film adaptation. It's better to have no expectations and just enjoy the final product and then judge. Same goes for the movie 'haters'. There is nothing to judge until the actual movie is out. Do I think the hype will affect the film? No, quite the contrary. Many more people will want to know what this hype is all about and all fans, including the so called 'haters', will go see the movie. I'm not preocupied by the box office, it will do well, i'm preocupied about those with very high expectations.
My thoughts on the film? I think it looks relatively wonderful right now. I have seen no real deviations from the books essential plot and i'm glad that they are focusing mostly on Edward and Bella's relationship which is what Twilight is all about. I think Kristen and Robert are both wonderful actors and I think they will pull Bella and Edward off to perfection, they not only look the parts, they understand them. Though most of the cast are relatively unknows, I think they will do well, they won't be fantastic, but they don't really need to be. They will do just fine. Cam Gigandet, however, seems to be stealing the spotlight of the two protagonist. He plays such a great bad guy and his James seriously creeps me out, much much more than book James did. As far as the acting, i'm not worried. I'm really not worried about anything in the film but the special effects. Mainly, how to make Edward 'sparkle'. I just don't see how they can do that, but they can do anything these days so i'm sure they'll pull through. So yeah, I have no worries and i'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the movie...a lot... But I remain without expectations until it's out, then I will enjoy it and gush.

Oh, one more thing. A lot of people have been saying it looks more like a tv show than a movie...I seriously don't get that. How does it look different than any other film? Is it the new, strange camera angles? 'Cause I love those. I don't know, but it looks way better made than any tv show on tv these days.

That is all. Please comment. :)

I've been hearing this a lot lately and it's really starting to bother me, so I thought I would express my thoughts about it here.

Lately I've been hearing from some people in the Twilight fandom, about how much they are starting to dislike the growth of the Twilight saga's popularity, so much that some are starting to dislike the book.
I find those thoughts kind of stupid because I know that when I finished reading Twilight the first thing I wanted to do was tell everyone I knew to read this amazing book. So why not welcome all the new fans with open arms? I know they are naive about the series and a little annoying, but I think we can spare a little patience and introduce new people to the world of Twilight and let them enjoy it as much as we older fans do. I don't consider myself that much of an old fan myself, I started reading the books around October of last year, but back then the fandom was still not as big as it is today. And all the fame is to be expected with a big blockbuster movie coming out so soon and the release of the last book right around the corner, but still I think some TwiHards are being a little to hard on the newcomers. I for one welcome everyone, the more the merier and the more discussions that can be had. I understand how some people who have been with the series from the start may feel overwhelmed by the huge increase in popularity, but for that to ruin your enjoyment of the books I think is a little ridiculous.

I just wanted to express my thoughts about it, because i've been hearing so many negative comments on the subject and I've been through this before with Harry Potter, which I started reading almost 10 years ago when they were not popular at all and then everything went haywire, but i'm still a Harry Potter fan and I will always be a Harry Potter fan and it can't thank JKR and the fandom enough for showing me how to read again. I lived through the popularity growth one and survived without ever losing my enjoyment of the books, I think I can do it again.

Now for the last two weeks or so, my best friend has been helping me plan my future wedding. Not that i'm engaged or anything, but i'm hoping for it soon (bf, if you're reading this; that's a hint!), so therefore we have the whole thing planned and ready to go. So I thought i'd make a blog about it so I don't forget and so you guys can give me your opinion on stuff. Anyway, ready? Here we go...

suSo I've decided to post this fanfic post here instead of my creative LJ because it's for the Twilight community and they don't know my creative LJ yet. So here it is, my first ever Twilight fic.

Title: No Need
Author:  candy_003
Rating: M for sexual situations
Warnings: Sexual situations
Word Count: 1082
Summary: On a trip to learn more about his past, Alice gives Jasper a suprise he'll never forget. (Alice/Jasper)
Author’s Note:  Un-beated since i've yet to find one. The idea for this fanfic came from a dream I had. The characters belong to Stephenie Meyer, I just borrow them for a bit.

Enjoy! :)

Wow! I haven't posted anything in like, forever. I'm so sorry! I don't even know if any of my friends keep track of this LJ anymore, though I highly doubt it, so i'm posting this mostly for myself. I really want to make new friends, perhaps people in my fandoms or that have anything in common with me (check out my interests). I really miss LJ'ing, and that means more than just visiting communities. Twitters! (that means you Twilight fans), please add me! I love discussing more Twilight, as you can see i'm extra into the fandom at the moment, though i've been a fan since November. Also, Cosplaying friend that read this! Please add me! I love myself some cosplaying.

I'll try to update this more, but I don't promise anything. Uni has been very hectic lately. I'll update soon with more about life.
